Hi, we are Jason and Kate and we run PolarCoasters and its sister page PolarParks. We are a couple of thrill seekers and coaster lovers who have been dating for a year and recently started on rollercoaster adventures together. We both have had a love of theme parks and thrills from a young age but Jason ended up accidentally taking a break from parks due to other hobbies and being busy. However, after talking about rides and a small trip to Thorpe Park, Kate convinced Jason to a weekend away at PortAdventura where Red Force and Shambala rekindled Jason’s love of coasters. Since then we have been trying to add to each other’s credit lists.

The idea for the instant photos of rides came from Jason, he has a background in both still and video photography and always took an interest in the more traditional mediums. He had been looking for a subject to use an instant camera with and after a couple of trips to parks thought of the idea. The name came easily after that and the first camera was purchased. The first adventure with the camera was Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Flamingo Land, during this trip the love of instant photos of rides spread to Kate, though she also wanted to take photos of the parks in general. A second camera was purchased and the PolarParks page was created. Since then we have been making park trips and taking photos.

Both of us contribute photos to both pages, however, Jason mainly runs the PolarCoasters page while Kate manages PolarParks.
